Clients’ Council
Client participation
In the Dutch healthcare sector, client participation is regulated by law. This is laid down in the Act on Client Participation in Care Institutions. This Act ensures that clients have a say in how care is organised.
As well as being a legal requirement, we also believe it is important that clients’ experiences are taken into account in the decisions we make. After all, organising care around the client requires us to listen to what clients experience and to listen to what clients need.
The clients’ council supports us in this. In this way, the clients’ council helps to ensure that the care we provide meets our clients’ needs. The clients’ council also helps us to fulfil our mission: to enable everyone to live a better life, both physically and mentally.
Rondom Clients’ Council
Rondom consists of several divisions that work together towards a single mission: to help everyone live a better life, both physically and mentally. A clients’ council is a legal requirement for two of the divisions within Rondom.
We see the client councils not only as a legal obligation, but also as an important part of how we organise our care. This is because the client councils bring valuable experiences and perspectives from clients to the table.
The client councils contribute ideas on topics that are important to clients. In this way, the client councils help us to make choices that are in line with our mission, vision and core values.
The Rondom Podotherapeuten Patients’ Council consists of:
- Irene Halferkamps
- Ton Broedersz
- Jos Ubachs

Independent and committed
The clients’ council contributes ideas on issues that are important to clients. These include the quality of care, information, accessibility and developments within the organisation. The council advises the management, both on request and on its own initiative.
The clients’ council does not deal with individual complaints. The clients’ council’s role is to improve care and services for clients as a whole.
